"Now the french press said Drogba will undergo operation and could be fit in 10 days. This means that he could go to World Cup after all. But it is very much in doubt that he will be risked for the first game. He will miss a lot of training in the best case and will not be fit to play. I will update as the situation develops.

As suspected 10 days recovery is extremely unlikely despite Drogba desire. The chances if him to feature at WC at all are not good."

{vs Portugal}, even if he does make it to SA 100% healthy.

yeah, Ivory Coast plays Portugal then Brazil...meaning that heading into their finale v. Korea DPR, they could have 0 pts. and zero hope, regardless if Drogba can make an appearance.
